Beginning students acquire technical proficiency with digital techniques while exploring their personal aesthetic vision. Learn how to take and talk about photographs and how to develop your own visual style.

Course Advantages

It is estimated that 300 million pictures are uploaded online daily.  Learn to make yours stand out from the crowd.  By learning about the technical and conceptual underpinnings of the media, you can improve your own photos and better understand billions of others.

Additional Information

This course is for those interested in understanding the mechanics of the digital camera better and for those interested in using photography as a tool for creative expression. No background in art or photography is required. Students must be able to supply some digital camera (phones work too) and have the ability to get those images onto their computer and online. Options will be discussed in class. We will not cover film development or 'wet darkroom' processes.
