Transition from NCAA Division II to Division I for Academic Year 2022-23
Yes. Your NLI is still a binding agreement. Both Stonehill and you will need to honor the requirements. If you decide not to attend Stonehill, we will grant a release from your NLI. If you are considering this, please contact your head coach regarding this decision and next steps.
Yes. Stonehill will honor the signed Athletics Financial Aid Agreement for 2022-23. Per NCAA rules, the athletic scholarship is renewable each year. Contact your head coach if you have any questions or concerns.
Yes, but unlike an NLI, a Commitment Letter is not a binding agreement. If you decide not to attend Stonehill, contact your head coach regarding your decision and next steps.
Yes, it is our intent to have every student-athlete continue to compete as a member of their team. All roster decisions will continue to be made by the head coach. Contact your head coach if you have any questions or concerns.
NCAA Division I initial eligibility requirements will go into effect immediately. The Compliance Office conducts an initial review of all incoming student-athlete eligibility for both academic and amateurism certification and will contact any individual student-athlete who may be required to take further action toward meeting the DI initial eligibility requirements.
Please contact your head coach with any questions or concerns regarding the transition to Division I or contact Kit Giffen, the Compliance Manager at kgiffen@stonehill.edu or 508-565-1632. The Compliance Office, along with your Head Coach, will answer any questions or concerns that you may have.
