Composting
Stonehill composts pre-consumer fruit and vegetable scraps, from Roche Dining Commons and the Holy Cross Center cafeteria. The scraps are then delivered to the Farm where they feed the two pigs. Students and faculty are currently working on expanding the composting program to include post-consumer material and small composting bins in dorm halls and suites.

FAQs
Where can I compost?
The composting program only includes pre-consumer waste currently. Stay tuned, students and faculty are currently working on resolving this to include post-consumer compost as well.
Can I compost if I live in a residence hall?
Unfortunately, we currently do not have a system in place for you to compost within your residence hall, however, the Students for Environmental Action club is starting a pilot program to test how dorm composting can be implemented.
