At Stonehill College Resident Assistants (RAs) serve as paraprofessional staff in all residence areas. They create, in our residence halls, a safe and secure living environment that supports the academic mission of the College. Under the supervision of the professional Residence Life staff, the RAs will fulfill all requirements and expectations outlined in the "Resident Assistant Employment Agreement" and "Resident Assistant Job Description" linked below.

Qualifications: RAs must be matriculated, full-time, undergraduate students at Stonehill College. RAs must have completed two full time, consecutive semesters at the institution. RAs are required to have a minimum semester and cumulative GPA of 2.5.

2023-2024 Resident Assistant Employment Agreement (to be signed by individuals who are hired for and accept the position at the conclusion of the application and interview process. dates are subject to change.

Step 1

Submit your resume AND answers to the application questions via Handshake for the Resident Assistant 2024-2025 job posting (Job #8449652). For questions about Handshake, please contact the Career Development Center at careerservices@tonehill.edu or 508.565.1325, or visit the office in Cushing-Martin Hall.

• This should only take a few minutes, but will require you to upload your resume, so we suggest you prepare it ahead of time.
• Visit Handshake and log in by selecting "Stonehill Users" using your Stonehill College username and password. You will be asked to upload your resume and complete some basic information.
• NOTE: The Career Development Center staff will review and either approve or decline your resume. As long as you submit your first application prior to the deadline, having your resume declined will not count against you and you will have the opportunity to make corrections and resubmit without penalty.
• Consider visiting the Career Development Center's website for some great tips on building a strong resume. Additionally, the CDC offers virtual Resume Labs to assist you with this process. A schedule of Resume Labs can be found by clicking on the Events tab in Handshake.

Step 2

This will take approximately 30 minutes to complete, but we recommend that you have the following information ready and pre-typed out to expedite your application:

• You will be asked to complete demographic information for contact purposes. There are also several optional fields for you to select if you choose, and these are for assessment purposes.
• You will be asked to provide any employment history and/or co-curricular involvement at Stonehill College or previous institution.
• You will be asked to agree to allow us to review your academic and Community Standards records to ensure you meet qualifications.

Reminder: Both steps 1 & 2 of the application are due by Tuesday, January 30, 2024 by 11:59pm.

Step 3: Individual Interview

This is more of a standard interview where you will participate in a 30 minute conversation with a members of our professional staff as well as current RAs. You will be asked a series of questions that cover topics including community building, diversity and inclusion, our Catholic mission, teamwork, and more.

Resident Assistants participate in numerous and extensive trainings throughout the year. This includes, but is not limited to, two weeks in August, weekly staff meetings, monthly all-staff meetings, three days prior to the start of the spring semester, Bystander Intervention Training, the Safe Zone series, and more. The purpose of these trainings is to prepare out student staff to encounter a wide range of incidents, personalities, and situations so that they can respond as responsibly and accurately as possible. The trainings include topics such as community development, duty responsibilities, diversity and inclusion, sexual assault and violence prevention, Community Standards, wellness, teamwork, and a variety of other resources from around the College.
