Technology at Stonehill for New Staff
Welcome to Stonehill!
The Department of Information Technology provides a robust infrastructure, a variety of networked resources, and accessible support services to enhance the teaching and learning environment for the Stonehill community.
Your Stonehill email address, username, and password are the keys to your digital life at Stonehill. You’ll use your email address to log in to all of our Office 365-powered applications and services (including important applications like myHill and Canvas), and your username to log in to campus computers, register your devices, connect to wireless, and more. Your password is the same for all these things!
The first time you log in to your email or any part of Office365, you will be asked to register verification methods which will allow you to log in through MFA, as well as change your password, unlock your account, or reset a forgotten or expired password.
myHill is your path to everything! To access myHill, navigate to myhill.stonehill.edu and sign in using your Stonehill username and password. Through myHill, you’ll have easy access to many College resources including your email, timesheet and more. Refer to the myHill for Employees category on our Knowledge Base for specific information about using myHill.
Your Stonehill account enables you to leverage Microsoft’s 365 cloud service to access a variety of useful online tools. Your Stonehill email works seamlessly through either the M365 web interface or Outlook on your computer or phone. Everyone at Stonehill can be found through the People directory, which can also be used to easily send meeting requests from your M365 calendar.
If you have a Stonehill-owned computer, your Stonehill Microsoft 365 account also gives you access to download and install the latest version of the full M365 suite of applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote on up to 5 of your personal devices at a time.
Everyone at Stonehill has access to web versions of these applications, making collaborations with students and other faculty a breeze. Plus, you can safely store up to 1TB of files in your OneDrive, which allows sharing with others and makes your files accessible from all of your devices.
Antivirus software is strongly recommended for both PC and Mac. Windows 10 computers come with Microsoft's own antivirus solution, Windows Defender, already included. Macs do not come with an antivirus solution included, so we strongly recommend installing one if you have a Mac.
All buildings have multiple connections to our wired network, providing high-speed access to the our network. Our secure wireless network, called hillspot, is also available in all buildings on campus. Information about how to set up hillspot on your devices can be found under the Network Access category on our Knowledge Base.
We provide a wealth of informative documentation and training materials in our Knowledge Base, which you can always find conveniently linked from the IT website, along with our Service Catalog.
These resources all appear in the Client Portal, which also allows you to manage your support tickets with the IT Service Desk.
The IT Service Desk is staffed by both full-time employees and student assistants, who provide answers to general technology questions as well as assistance with the services we provide. Stop by the Service Desk in Duffy 025, call 508-565-1111 or send us an email at service-desk@stonehill.edu.
