Eating healthy might seem overwhelming, but once you have the know what foods make your body feel the best, it's easier to create healthy habits around food. Here are some tips to help you get started.

Variety

Eat a variety of food from the food guide pyramid. You need at least this many servings per day:

  • 2-3 servings of fruits
  • 3-5 servings of veggies
  • 2-3 servings of meats
  • 2-4 servings of dairy
  • 4-6 servings of grains

Moderation

It is okay to eat all the foods you like, in moderation. Eliminating entire food groups like sugar, carbs, etc. usually leads to crashing, binging, and overall can have a severe negative effect on your mental health and body image. It's perfectly okay to have a sweet treat! Moderation is the key to happiness.
