Stonehill College’s meal plans, which are in full effect for the entire academic year, provide access to a wide variety of dining options. All meal plans come with Meal Swipes, Dining Dollars and Guest Swipes.

Resident Student Meal Plan

All students living on campus are required to participate in the Resident Student Meal Plan. Residents may choose between two dining plan options:

  • Primary Plan: Resident students are afforded 225 Meal Swipes (220 Meal Swipes plus 5 Guest Swipes) per semester. This plan equates to approximately 14 meals per week each semester. The cost of this plan is included in students’ Food and Housing of the Cost of Attendance.
  • Upgrade Plan: Resident students can upgrade to 250 Meal Swipes (245 Meal Swipes plus 5 Guest Swipes) for an additional $200 per semester. They can also upgrade to 300 Meal Swipes (295 Meal Swipes plus 5 Guest Swipes) for an additional $420 per semester. These options must be purchased by October 1 for the fall semester and February 28 for the spring semester.

Under these plans, Meal Swipes expire at the end of the semester. Both meal plan options include $75 Dining Dollars, which can be spent at any dining venue (including Dunkin’ in the Shields Science Center). If students have a leftover Dining Dollar balance after the fall semester, that balance will carry over into the spring semester, but will expire at the end of the academic year in May.

Whether they are on the Primary Plan or the Upgrade Plan, resident students may use up to five of their swipes for family and friends visiting campus. Each of these Guest Swipes (which expire at the end of the semester) shall be deducted from the student’s overall Meal Swipe balance. Therefore, the Primary Plan consists of 220 Meal Swipes plus 5 Guest Swipes, and the Upgrade Plan consists of 295 Meal Swipes plus 5 Guest Swipes.

Commuter and Graduate Student Meal Plan

Students who commute to campus are not required to participate in the dining meal program but may choose to do so. Commuters and graduate students may choose between three dining plan options:

  • 20 Swipes per semester for $200
  • 40 Swipes per semester for $380
  • 80 Swipes per semester for $720

Commuter dining plan options, which may be purchased at any time, do not include Guest Swipes or Dining Dollars. Any unused swipes expire at the end of the spring semester.

Parents who are authorized users and would like to pay for the plan may do so at www.stonehill.edu/paymentplan

Employee Meal Plan

Employees can put any dollar amount on their Hill Card here. Funds do not expire for employees. They will be charged 50% of the door rates in the Roche Dining Commons ($5 for breakfast, $7 for lunch, $8 for dinner). They will be charged 100% of the retail rate at Stonehill's retail venues. All on-campus establishments accept credit cards in addition to the Hill Card.

A Guide to Dining at Stonehill College

Meal Swipes allow you entry into either of our all-you-care-to-dine dining halls (The Commons and The Sem Café). Simply swipe your Hill Card at the cashier’s stand upon entry and one meal will be deducted from your balance. Meal Swipes expire at the end of each semester, are not transferrable, and are for the sole use of the purchaser. You can swipe up to four times each day.

Diners who run out of Meal Swipes will pay the following door rates at The Commons and The Sem Café using Hill Dollars, cash or credit card: $10 for breakfast, $14 for lunch, and $16 for dinner. There is no limit to the number of Hill Dollars that can be used each day.

Meal Exchanges are available at The Hill, Gigi’s, and Lux Café, none of which are all-you-care-to-dine venues. At these locations, one meal swipe may be exchanged for a meal bundle. Meal bundles will vary by venue. Community members may use up to four Meal Exchanges per day.

Dining Dollars are stored on your Hill Card as part of the Resident Student Meal Plan. To use them, diners should let the cashier know that they would like to pay with Dining Dollars. Accepted at any venue on campus, Dining Dollars are helpful when community members want to make a purchase in a retail location or when they run out of Meal Swipes. Unused Dining Dollars carry over only from the fall semester to the spring semester. They expire at the end of each academic year.

Community members who are on our Resident Student Meal Plans (225 or 300 Meal Swipes) may share up to five Guest Swipes with family and friends visiting campus. Guest Swipes expire at the end of each semester.
