Stonehill honored for exceptional career development

Colleges of Distinction has once again honored Stonehill College for its exceptional career development services.

The organization, an advocate for schools whose undergraduate experiences are grounded in a philosophy of engagement, teaching, community and outcomes, awarded Stonehill its Career Development of Distinction badge for 2024-2025. As was the case last year, the recognition is rooted in the College’s demonstrated excellence in helping students leverage their degree through placements at industry-leading organizations and highly selective graduate schools.

“We are very impressed with the ways that Stonehill College helps students transition into post-graduation life with confidence,” said Tyson Schritter, the organization’s chief operating officer. “The resources and unwavering support given to students all throughout their academic journey sets them up for successful, fulfilling careers in whatever field they choose.”

These resources and support include:

The office partners with academic departments to include their resources in the classroom and help guide students toward the services they should be seeking at different points throughout their academic career. Career and major exploration are integrated across all fields of study.

Career Development’s services can be accessed online 24/7 and by appointment for one-on-one counseling. Programs and training include self-assessments, resume and cover letter writing, and interviewing and networking skills development. The center also hosts events and workshops to help students receive feedback and job search skills.

There are many ways to engage with the career development. Many of these services are available to alumni throughout their careers.

"The Career Development recognition goes beyond standard offerings like mock interviews and job boards," added Schritter. "Stonehill integrates career readiness into the curriculum, establishing meaningful connections between students across majors and their future careers. This innovative and comprehensive approach to career preparation is what sets its career development apart and deserving of this recognition."
