Stonehill earns spot on Washington Monthly’s list of Best Liberal Arts Colleges in America

Out of more than 1,700 colleges recently reviewed by Washington Monthly magazine, Stonehill College was among a select group of 214 chosen for its 2019 list of best liberal arts colleges in the nation. The magazine ranked Stonehill in the Top 15 in New England and No. 6 in Massachusetts.

To differentiate itself from ranking groups that reward colleges for being exclusive, prestigious and wealthy, the Washington Monthly says it credits schools that are doing right by taxpayers and the country – by promoting upward mobility, producing scholars and scholarship and encouraging their students to be active citizens. As New York Times columnist Frank Bruni says, "Washington Monthly is judging institutions' characters as much as their clout."
