Stonehill College header

Dear Stonehill students, faculty, and staff,

This email contains urgent information regarding travel during Spring Break.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.

The College continues to look to updates and guidance from local, national, and international health officials as we navigate the evolving coronavirus outbreak to best ensure the well-being of our community.

Given the latest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance, and out of an abundance of caution, we are requiring any students, faculty, or staff who travel to or through a country designated as Level 2 or 3 by the CDC to stay home for a 14-day period of self-monitoring, practicing self-observation and social distancing.

Specifically, for a minimum of 14 days—starting upon their return to the U.S.—the College expects these students, faculty, and staff to:
  • return to their family home or to an off-campus residence; and
  • refrain from close contact (within six feet) with any individuals.
If under a 14-day monitoring period, individuals will not be permitted to return to campus during that time.

Additionally, we encourage the on-campus community to be mindful of this expectation when inviting guests to campus or when visiting individuals off-campus.

For those of you who have travel plans in or through countries designated as a Level 2 or 3 by the CDC, we recognize this requirement comes as a disappointment. We as a College—as well as our peer institutions across the country—are taking this situation seriously and want to take necessary steps to best ensure the health and safety of our community.

With that in mind, we ask that if you are traveling internationally over break, you share that information with the College through this form. Any information provided will be shared on a strict need-to-know basis for community health protection.

Whether or not your spend your break traveling, please follow the CDC's best practices for coronavirus prevention until government experts indicate otherwise.

If you have any questions, please reach out to:

  • Students: Office of Student Affairs at 508-565-1363 or the Office of Academic Affairs at 508-565-1363
  • Faculty and Staff: Human Resources at 508-565-1105

Additionally, students who are reconsidering international travel plans and may need housing over Spring Break can contact the Office of Residence Life at 508-565-1290 for assistance.

The College continues to monitor the CDC's lists of updates, recommendations, and guidance. We appreciate your support and understanding as we work to guide Stonehill through this evolving public health issue.
