Jillian Wexler '23 Gives Invocation at 2023 Commencement
The graduate asked God to help her classmates walk in prayerful appreciation and gratefulness.
Good and Gracious God,
First, I want to begin by asking for your presence on this exciting day!
We are all gathered here to celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2023 and the beginning of the next chapter of our lives.
Through your wisdom, we have grown in knowledge, embraced creativity, and discovered resilience and determination in our pursuit of this degree.
In a moment, we will walk across the stage to receive our diplomas. Let us walk in prayerful appreciation and gratefulness for all the blessings that have made this moment a reality.
Please bless all of those who have supported us on our journey.
In gratitude we pray for our families who have sacrificed so much to see us to this moment.
We pray for all the staff members, coaches, professors, and administrators here at Stonehill who have challenged and cared for us, both in and out of the classroom. We pray also for our friends, classmates, and peers who have supported us along the way.
God, each of us sitting here today has faced unique challenges and accomplished so much. As our time here at Stonehill comes to an end and the next phase of our life begins, we ask that you grant us patience, courage, grace, and strength.
We ask this all through Christ Our Lord,
Amen
