As the first brother to lead the Congregation of Holy Cross as superior general, you have made history. Your installation as the Congregation’s highest governing authority embodies your ability to lead with strength and integrity.

As an educator in the faith, you remain committed to upholding the traditions established by Blessed Basil Moreau, the Congregation’s founder. You continuously approach your work with zeal and compassion.

In your previous roles within the Congregation, including Vicar General and First Assistant, as well as Executive Director of the National Religious Vocation Conference, and Formation and Vocation Director for your province, you have exemplified the concept of servant leadership. In your efforts to bring light and hope to this world, you have led collaboratively while working with Holy Cross religious at parishes, educational apostolates, and social ministries worldwide.

As a former teacher and administrator at schools located in the United States and abroad, you dedicated yourself to the task of educating hearts and minds so that your students had the tools needed to make a positive impact in the world.

For your many contributions to the Holy Cross mission, you are revered by your confrères in the Congregation and the Stonehill College community.

For the passion you have demonstrated as you have sought to make God known, loved and served, Stonehill College is proud to bestow upon you, Br. Paul Bednarczyk, honoris causa, the degree of Doctor of Humane Letters.

Given this nineteenth day of May,
Two Thousand Twenty-Four
