Internships & Mentoring
A key part of SCIFI are professional development activities and training outside the classroom. These opportunities, while resume building in nature, expose students to leading investment institutions, alumni mentoring, and a chance to gain valuable experience and insight.
Internship Opportunities
Internship standards are extremely high and very competitive for the investment management industry. But the opportunities can be especially rewarding in many respects. We will work closely with students admitted to SCIFI to obtain an internship that exposes the workings of investment research, sales, trading, fund management and/or investment banking.
Interested students will be encouraged to meet directly with our Career Development Center as early as the second semester of their sophomore year for guidance on resume building, interview skills and to identify opportunities for professional summer internships.
Mentoring From Investment Professionals
Stonehill alumni in the investment field form the core of a mentoring team for students that participate in the program. Alumni participation is welcomed and encouraged. Students will be assigned at least two mentors as part of the program.
As time permits, these professionals will participate in:
- The SCIFI Advanced Workshop Series
- The Mary Herlihy Opportunity Fund Board of Advisors
Network with professionals from:
- Goldman Sachs
- Fidelity Investments
- Allianz
- Cowen Group
- Duff & Phelps
