For Students
The Desk is the library’s command center and your first stop if you need help and are uncertain where to turn. The staff at the Desk can check out materials, study room keys, and items professors have placed on reserve. You can also stop here to pick up books you’ve ordered through interlibrary loan. If you have a research question and are not sure who you should speak to, the staff at the Desk can direct you to the appropriate person. Contact the Desk by phone at 508-565-1313, or by email at librarydeskgroup@stonehill.edu.
Have you been assigned a research project? Your professors expect that you will use excellent resources for your assignments, but no one expects you to navigate the information landscape alone. Librarians are here to assist you with all aspects of the research process, including narrowing your topic, finding and evaluating quality sources, and creating citations and reference lists. To help you get started, librarians have also created online guides for each subject area. Guides have also been created to help you decipher common citation styles.
There are several ways to get in touch with the librarians at MacPhaidin Library:
- Email us: librarydeskgroup@stonehill.edu
- Call the Desk: 508-565-1313
- Visit the desk in person and ask for a reference librarian.
- Find a librarian in your subject area and contact them directly.
Do you need help writing or proofreading a paper? Tutoring Services, located on the third floor of the library, offers professional and peer-tutoring in writing and other academic subjects. Contact the Tutoring Services at 508-565-5014 or tutoring-services@stonehill.edu.
The library is also here to support your fun! Take a break from reading course texts and check out our selection of leisure reading books. Visit our Library of Things to borrow games, baking equipment, musical instruments, and more!
