The Stonehill College Fund creates readily available funds that provide our students with academic offerings, scholarships, faculty excellence, community service opportunities, co-curricular programs and top-notch campus facilities - all the areas of the College that make a Stonehill education exceptional.

Annual engagement and support of the extended Stonehill community—alumni, parents, and friends—have strengthened the College and fostered its greatest advancements.

The success of the Stonehill College Fund – and the strength of the College – will always depend on a collaborative spirit of giving. Each of us has our own Stonehill story, and there are many inspiring reasons to support Stonehill through the Stonehill College Fund.

Meehan School of Business
Leo J. Meehan School of Business

Stonehill is committed to being a college of opportunity providing a rigorous academic experience that prepares the next generation of students to think critically and creatively about the challenges of our day.

The Stonehill College Fund turns individual gifts— of all sizes— into a collective difference for our students. When they come to Stonehill and entrust us with their potential, we want to be able to offer them every advantage. Financial aid and scholarships. Extraordinary opportunities for learning and discovery. The best possible faculty and facilities. Overall, we want them to know the transformational effects of being educated in the Holy Cross tradition. A Stonehill education will encourage our students to develop a lifelong desire for self-discovery and commitment to service that will lead to truly purposeful and rewarding lives.

Academics

Our academic approach challenges students to engage in rigorous courses of study: to apply their growing knowledge through research, writing, and oral presentations; and to put that knowledge to work and to service through internships, field work and community-based learning.

You guarantee a personalized educational experience for each of the 2,500 students enrolled at Stonehill College.

Scholarships

Scholarships substantially grow access and deepen the College’s capacity to inspire every student, guided by stellar faculty, to chart a unique journey in life.

You ensure that academic ability, not the ability to pay, determines who receives a Stonehill education.

Athletics

Stonehill student-athletes are challenged and championed on the playing field and in the classroom. At the College, success truly is more than a win-loss record. About 80 percent of our students participate in some level of sports or recreation.

The GoHill Fund supports 575 Stonehill College student-athletes across 23 varsity sports providing our coaches and students with the resources they need to compete and succeed at the highest levels.

You support the active role of fitness and athletics in our students to work hard and develop the attitude, drive and skills that are vital in sports and in life.

Student Clubs and Organizations

Stonehill has several student clubs and organizations on campus! Students can apply to the Student Government Association to start a new club any time. Your support enables these groups to provide exciting programming, ways to connect with each other, and opportunities for students to enhance their experience at Stonehill. Some examples are:

Best Buddies
Stonehill Best Buddies is a club that works to promote friendship and inclusion between all individuals, both with and without disabilities! As a club, they partner with the Easton House of Possibilities, where they meet with members weekly to do different activities; such as crafts, karaoke, basketball, and games.

DECA
DECA is a chapter of students looking to network with professionals through a series of events and work to refine their presentation and critical thinking skills for international competition. Students compete at different conferences in a wide array of events centered around marketing, management, entrepreneurship, finance, ethics, and a variety of other subjects.

Education Society
The Education Society is an organization geared toward education majors and those who are interested in the field of education. Society members will have the opportunity to explore the field through club discussions, programs, guest speakers, and student panels.

Model United Nations
Model UN is a student-led club that provides students with the opportunity to actively engage with the issues facing our global community today.

Stonehill Musical Theater Club
The Stonehill Musical Theatre Club (SMTC) is a student-run organization that welcomes students who are interested in acting, singing, dancing and even set crew. SMTC puts on a musical every school year and performs a cabaret at the end of each year.

Mission and Service

Our students are constantly finding new and inventive ways to change the world through service. They’re in it for the experience, the people and because it’s the right thing to do. Each year, Stonehill students serve community partners by engaging with programs through the L.I.G.H.T. Community Engagement program, the H.O.P.E. Service Immersion Program, and the Farm at Stonehill among others. Service experiences build leadership skills, broaden their understanding of diversity and develop a keener sense of justice.

You encourage service opportunities locally and around the world.

You Change the Life of a Student

With your gift, you better the life of a student, a family and an entire Stonehill community. You are investing in a Stonehill student, in the mission of Stonehill College and what we can accomplish together. Opportunities such as these have benefited from the Stonehill College Fund over the past year and can change a student forever:

  • First-Generation Scholar Program is a collaborative, interdivisional initiative that provides robust academic oversight, while also connecting students with other offices on campus. This program gets first-generation students better connected on campus.
  • The SURE Program enhances learning opportunities for students while encouraging collaboration between students and faculty conducting scholarly research. The SURE Program enables selected students to participate in scholarly projects under the direct mentorship of faculty members.
  • BACES Mentoring Program (Black, Indigenous and People of Color Achieving Connection & Empowerment at Stonehill) is an inter-generational mentorship program that connects first-year and transfers students (mentees) with returning students (mentors) and all students with alumni.
  • International Programs challenge students to take authorship of their personal and intellectual growth within a global context through study abroad, internship, research, and service-learning possibilities. These experiential experiences facilitate intercultural dialogue and expand international awareness.
  • The Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity, and Social Justice is an academic hub that offers academic and co-curricular events and research opportunities that bridge academic experiences and student life. A series of public lectures, events, and performances bring new energy to campus culture and create a sense of inclusion.
  • The Student Opportunity Fund provides funds to students to subsidize the costs associated with their participation in a wide range of high-impact learning activities. Preference is given to students who are able to clearly articulate and demonstrate the significant financial hardships or barriers that jeopardize their ability to participate in desired high-impact learning experiences.
  • The Bridge Fund assists hardworking Stonehill students with great financial need—providing a quick turnaround for our students when their family faces unexpected financial hardships.

The last year at Stonehill has been one of the best of my life, for I've taken incredible classes that have encouraged and inspired me. I have also gotten the opportunity to live in a completely different environment because I moved so far away from home, which I believe has positively impacted my self-confidence, independence, and perseverance. Overall, scholarship support at Stonehill has given me the opportunity of a lifetime, for which I am forever grateful.
