Biography
Dr. Michael Salé came to Stonehill College in 2007 as a part-time faculty member and was appointed to the full-time faculty in 2014. He brings with him vast experience in information technology management/consulting and multiple successes in helping organizations leverage IT systems to meet their strategic goals. He is also an Agile software development coach.
Dr. Salé began his career as a Senior Project Manager in the higher education software industry where he led the implementation of enterprise-level administrative software at hundreds of colleges and universities in the United States and overseas. He also owns his own consulting firm, Portico Consulting Group, which specializes in providing services to college and university information technology teams. His main teaching areas include management information systems, data analytics, and software engineering.
Research Interests
Dr. Salé’s major research interest is in legacy software maintenance practices. He also has publications in the following areas:
- information technology auditing in higher education
- big data/machine learning algorithms
- the use of Agile software engineering practices in dissertation research and teaching
