Biography

Professor of Practice in Healthcare Management Mark Willis, LP.D., joined the Stonehill College community in 2022. He has also taught at several other institutions, including Northeastern University, Bunker Hill Community College, and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Willis has been in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry for the last 25 years working for companies such as Fresenius Medical Care, Becton Dickinson, Merck, Takeda, Stryker, and Roche. He started his own independent consulting company back in 2018. He consulted for the United States Food & Drug Administration, where he was brought in to develop a process to secure the healthcare supply chain during the COVID pandemic. Most recently, he has supported Medtronic streamline their processes and prepare their robotic surgical device for US market release.

Beyond his work in education and the healthcare industry, Willis is also an active volunteer for multiple organizations. He supports the United Nations as a healthcare policy subject matter expert and is on the World Health Organization’s roster of consultants for global patient safety. He is a Board of Directors member for a local federal credit union where he holds the Banking Policy Chain. Previously, he worked with the International Organization of Standards to update the global standards for Quality Management Systems.

In his spare time, Willis continues his research to improve the healthcare supply chain and mitigate the risk of consumers from receiving counterfeit pharmaceuticals and devices. He has the privilege to present his research globally at various conferences and as an ambassador for Fight the Fakes Organization.
