Biography
Scott Cohen is an Associate Professor of twentieth-century British and postcolonial literatures. He teaches courses in Postcolonial cultural studies, world Anglophone literatures, transnational and international modernism, and the history and theory of the novel.
He has recently published articles in the Minnesota Review, Modern Fiction Studies, NOVEL: A Forum on Fiction, and Conradiana. His research interests include materialism and theories of space, gender and sexuality, globalization and urban culture, aesthetics and theories of values, and advertising and empire.
Many of these interests inform his current book project In the Crosscurrents of Empire: A Moving Geography of Global British Fiction; the study considers the importance of real and imagined movement and mobility in the formation of modernist aesthetics and British imperial policy.
