Biography

A 1995 graduate of Stonehill College, Nicole Casper began her professional career in Archives and Records Management in 1996 as a records analyst at the Rhode Island State Archives and Public Records Administration. In 1997, she received her master’s degree in Library and Information Science with a concentration in Archives Management from Simmons College.

From 1999-2001, Nicole worked as the Archivist and Records Manager at Habitat for Humanity’s International Headquarters in Americus, Georgia. She returned to Stonehill in 2001, as the Director of Archives and Historical Collections. That same year she also became a Certified Records Manager.

Nicole’s favorite part of her job is the opportunities to work the variety of collections owned by the college. From preserving the college archives to managing collections like the Tofias Industrial Archives (a.k.a. Ames Shovel Museum), the Stanley A. Bauman Photograph Collection and Shoe Industry Collection, to name just a few, every day provides the opportunity to be surrounded by history.

Outside work Nicole is a passionate machine and hand quilter who often designs or adapts quilt patterns to best fit her projects.
