Biography
Kirsten Whitten, PhD, is a Lecturer of Communication, Public Relations and IMC with more than 25 years of experience in marketing and public relations. Earning her PhD in communication with a focus in PR from Regent University, Kirsten has an MA in Integrated Marketing Communication from Emerson College and a BA in English Writing & Literature from Wheaton College. Kirsten is a member of PRSA Boston and the PRSA Faculty Forum. She has received numerous awards from the Publicity Club of New England, has been published in the IABD Business Research Yearbook and has lectured on the subject of “Writing for PR” at several industry and trade conferences. Her dissertation showcases her commitment to the industry in its title, "Managing Interdepartmental Collaboration of Social Media Relations: Investigating the PR/Com Role in the Leadership and Collaboration of Social Media Relations Practices across Organizations." She is also co-owner of G.T. Graphics in Hanson, Mass., an integrated marketing communications firm.
