A Look at President Denning's Accomplishments
A student-focused educator in faith, Fr. Denning took office as president in 2013. He previously served as vice president for student affairs, inaugural vice president for mission and director of campus ministry. Here, we share highlights from his 10 years of leadership.
- Led Stonehill's efforts to establish programs and centers, such as Think.Act.Lead. and the Navigation Center for Student Success, that provide leadership opportunities and support students as they work toward their goals.
- Presided over the development of new graduate programs.
- Led the College's reorganization into two schools: the May School of Arts & Sciences and the Meehan School of Business.
- Oversaw the reaccreditation process for the New England Commission of Higher Education in 2019.
- Oversaw the launch of Stonehill's Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity, and Social Justice.
- Presided over the College's transition to NCAA Division I and the Northeast Conference.
- Helped shepherd the TO BE BOLD campaign, Stonehill’s record-setting comprehensive campaign, raising $77.3 million in support of the College.
- Strengthened the College’s physical infrastructure with major building improvement projects, including the construction of the Leo J. Meehan School of Business; the Thomas and Donna May School of Arts & Sciences; the Rev. Mark T. Cregan, C.S.C., Athletic and Fitness Center; and the Rev. Thomas Feeley, C.S.C., Pedestrian Bridge. Oversaw the installation of solar panels on campus and the dedication of Thomas F. and Kathleen A. Bogan Hall.
