Accounting Major

Accounting has long been one of Stonehill's most popular majors and one that attracts many of the Northeast's best and brightest high school students. The program is demanding and, as a result, it has an enviable record in terms of the percentage of its students who join the major accounting firms and become CPAs.

An Accounting degree from Stonehill prepares you for any number of challenging careers in a wide range of responsible positions in business, government and nonprofit organizations:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Controller
  • Accounting manager
  • Internal Auditor
  • Forensic Accountant

Companies that employ our Accounting graduates often say their decision was based on our students' broad portfolio of skills, and our graduates have been honored by the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants for being among the highest scorers on the CPA exam.

The Curriculum

Accounting majors are required to take a core business curriculum and a liberal arts curriculum in addition to their major requirements.

We offer a broad-based curriculum that educates the whole person, fosters lifelong learning and produces highly sought after graduates. We produce critical thinkers and effective communicators who can adapt to an ever-changing business environment.
