Office of Disability Services

The Office of Disability Services (ODS) is a supportive, proactive environment for students with documented disabilities. At Stonehill College the accommodations process requires a partnership between the individual student, ODS, and the greater Community. We work with students to determine and coordinate reasonable accommodations and to create a level playing field for all students.

In this spirit, the Office of Disability Services takes an individualized approach to promote self-advocacy and encourage students to maintain an awareness of their strengths, limitations, and learning styles.

ODS recognizes the importance of fostering disability education initiatives for students, faculty, and staff. We serve faculty and staff in an advisory role to promote equal access both inside and outside the classroom. The College offers reasonable and appropriate auxiliary aids and services to assist otherwise qualified persons in achieving access to its programs, services, and facilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA Amendments Act 2008) and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

Students are encouraged to contact ODS if they have, or think they may have a disability. Prospective students are also encouraged to contact ODS to learn more about the accommodations process.

Diagnostic Referrals:

Students who are seeking to be tested for a learning disability and/or ADHD are encouraged to meet with ODS. It is suggested that students contact the Member Services Department of their health insurance provider and determine their in-network vs. out of network coverage for diagnostic evaluations.

ODS provides the student with a diagnostic provider list of professionals in the Boston area who provide testing services. The student is responsible for fees associated with diagnostic testing.
