The gift aid described here is available for Full-time students. The CSS Profile is required for initial consideration for all types of Stonehill-funded gift aid. The FAFSA is required for all initial and renewal scholarships unless otherwise noted.

  • Recipients are selected by the Department of Athletics, to which all questions regarding this type of aid must be directed.

Dollars For Scholars Matching Scholarship

  • Provides up to $500 matching awards to students who are recipients of Dollars for Scholars scholarships.
  • To receive a matching award, Dollars for Scholars chapter must submit an official, written request matching form.
  • Student must have remaining financial need in order to qualify for match.
  • Allocated funds must still be available in order to award a match.

Multiple Family Member Discount

  • Awarded on the condition that the applicable family members are:
  1. full-time students
  2. living in the same household
  3. matriculating at the same time
  4. paying tuition to Stonehill, and
  5. not receiving any other scholarship, grant, or tuition remission from the College.
  • A FAFSA or PROFILE is not required for Family Tuition Remission.
  • The total discount is divided and applied equally to each family member, half in each semester.
  • First student receives no discount.
  • Second student receives a 25% tuition discount.
  • All subsequent students receive a 50% tuition discount.

Novak-Sakmar-Templeton Scholarship

  • Merit-based gift aid awarded to incoming students, typically valedictorians of their high school graduating classes, in recognition of outstanding academic achievement and co-curricular contributions.
  • Recipients are selected by the College.
  • Renewal requires a cumulative average of at least 3.3.
  • There is no expectation that the amount will increase in subsequent years.
  • Presumes continuous full-time enrollment for a maximum of eight semesters.

Restricted/Endowed Scholarships

  • Awarded from the College endowment on which the donor may have placed restrictions.
  • Most of these scholarships are awarded to returning students who, in addition to filing complete financial aid applications, also submit separate applications between February 1 and March 15.
  • Scholarships appropriate for entering students do not require a separate application.
  • These scholarships are awarded for one year only, although you may request to be considered for the same scholarship in a subsequent year.
  • Your acceptance or receipt of these funds implies permission for the College to publicize the award.
  • If you are a recipient, you will receive communication from the College regarding the name of the award and to whom your letter of thanks should be addressed.
  • No funds can be applied to your account until your completed letter of thanks has been received by the College. If it is not forthcoming, the award is forfeited.

  • Merit-based gift aid awarded to incoming students of the highest caliber and promise, in recognition of outstanding academic achievement.
  • Renewal requires a cumulative average of at least 3.3.
  • There is no expectation that the amount will increase in subsequent years.
  • Presumes continuous full-time enrollment for a maximum of eight semesters.

St. Andre Bessett Scholarship (Holy Cross Fathers Scholarship)

  • Awarded to incoming freshmen who are graduates of select Holy Cross Fathers and Brothers high schools nationwide.
  • Guaranteed a minimum of $10,000 in grants and scholarships to attend Stonehill
  • Renewable for three subsequent years provided you continue to be a full-time student and maintain satisfactory academic progress.
  • There is no expectation that the amount will increase in subsequent years.
  • Presumes continuous full-time enrollment for a maximum of eight semesters.

Stonehill Dean's Scholarship
  • Merit-based gift aid awarded to incoming students in recognition of excellent academic credentials at the high school level.
  • A recipient, selected by the College, must have filed the CSS PROFILE as well as the FAFSA for initial consideration.
  • For renewal at the same level, a student must earn a cumulative average of at least 2.9; but no subsequent financial aid application is required.
  • There is no expectation that the amount will increase or, if there is an increase, that it will correspond to any increase in the tuition rate.
  • Presumes continuous full-time enrollment for a maximum of eight semesters.

Stonehill Diocese of Boston Scholarship

  • Graduates of Cardinal Spellman high school in Brockton, MA are guaranteed a minimum of $10,000 in grants and scholarships to attend Stonehill.
  • Satisfactory academic progress is the minimum renewal criteria as well as compliance with any merit scholarship requirements.
  • There is no expectation that the amount will increase in subsequent years.
  • Presumes continuous full-time enrollment for a maximum of eight semesters.

Stonehill Diocese of Fall River Scholarship

  • Graduates of the Fall River, MA diocesan high schools- Bishop Stang, Bishop Connolly, Bishop Feehan, and Coyle Cassidy are guaranteed a minimum of $10,000 in grants and scholarships to attend Stonehill.
  • Satisfactory academic progress is the minimum renewal criteria as well as compliance with any merit scholarship requirements.
  • There is no expectation that the amount will increase in subsequent years.
  • Presumes continuous full-time enrollment for a maximum of eight semesters.

Stonehill Moreau Honors Scholarship

  • Merit-based gift aid awarded to incoming students in the honors program in recognition of very competitive academic achievement and significant co-curricular contributions at the high school level.
  • Recipients, typically in the top 5% of their high school graduating classes, are selected by the College
  • Renewal requires a cumulative average of at least 3.3.
  • There is no expectation that the amount will increase in subsequent years.
  • Presumes continuous full-time enrollment for a maximum of eight semesters.

Stonehill Need-Based Grant

  • Awarded on the basis of institutionally-defined financial need.
  • These funds are renewable if the student continues to be enrolled full-time, the level of financial need remains constant as shown on financial aid applications filed in subsequent years, and the student maintains a satisfactory disciplinary record.
  • Incoming student award values shown are tentative, pending verification of the information on the financial aid application.

  • Merit-based gift aid awarded to incoming students in recognition of strong academic achievement, test scores, rank in class, and competitive curriculum at the high school level.
  • Recipients, typically in the top 10% of their high school graduating classes, are selected by the College.
  • Renewal requires a cumulative average of at least 3.0.
  • There is no expectation that the amount will increase in subsequent years.
  • Presumes continuous full-time enrollment for a maximum of eight semesters.

Tuition Exchange Scholarship

  • Gift aid based on parental employment at another participating institution, which certifies initial and renewal eligibility.
  • Requires satisfactory academic progress and adherence to disciplinary standards, presumes full-time enrollment, and has no transferability to study-abroad and internship programs.
