The Department of Visual & Performing Arts provides students with a comprehensive opportunity to experience specific artistic disciplines from various perspectives: historical, studio, graphic, and performance. We offer a curriculum that combines a strong academic curriculum with experiential learning.
Majors
Visual & Performing Arts majors may choose a General Concentration or one of six different concentrations. Many of our students double major to optimize career options or to satisfy a variety of interests:

This year’s Exhibitions and Collections Capstone Course Exhibit at the Cushing-Martin Gallery examines the myth of the eternal feminine as explored by Simone de Beauvoir in her manifesto "The Second Sex."
March 25 | Musical Comedy “Das Barbecu” Coming to StonehillThe Stonehill Theatre Company will perform its spring production entitled Das Barbecü on April 11, 12 and 13 at 8:00 p.m. in Hemingway Theatre. Das Barbecü is a comedic, musical retelling of Richard Wagner’s Götterdammerüng (Twlight of the Gods) which is a part of his cycle of four “Ring” operas.
The work of 19 talented graduating graphic design majors can be seen in an exhibit currently on display in the Cushing-Martin Gallery. The Senior Graphic Design Annual will run through March 21.
