Italian Studies Program
Professor and Director of Italian Studies
Foreign Languages Department
Italian Studies is an interdisciplinary minor concentration intended to provide knowledge of the people and the culture of Italy.
For majors in international studies, business administration, and other areas, the Italian Studies minor offers students the chance to become proficient in Italian through the study of language, film, art, and historical inquiry. Opportunities for study in Italy are available through the Study Abroad Program.
Electives are chosen according to the needs and interests of each student. Beginning with Intermediate Italian, language instruction employs a variety of communicative strategies designed to achieve proficiency. These include a conversation table, film series, and discussions of contemporary life and customs.
