Stonehill College recognizes the importance of technology by providing a robust infrastructure, a variety of networked resources and accessible support services to enhance the learning environment.

Network

Our high speed fiber optic network connects each room in every building to the internet and to Internet2, the advanced research network that promotes collaboration and innovation amongst higher education institutions.

Wireless Access

Wireless network access is available in all buildings on campus with 100% coverage in the Residence Halls, Library, Roche Dining Commons and Academic buildings.

Learning Spaces

Students have access to more than 300 computers, both PC and Mac, in general access labs and classrooms throughout the campus. Stanger Hall is home to the largest of these facilities, a 50-workstation lab available to students 24 hours most days during the academic year. A comprehensive suite of software is provided to support a variety of tasks from editing a paper to performing statistical analysis.

Students attend classes in more than 70 computer-equipped classrooms where information and multimedia resources bring learning alive.

The MacPhaidin Library contains computer labs, video viewing rooms, study areas, and comfortable seating in sunny locations, perfect for curling up with a laptop.

Support

The Help Desk is the single place to seek assistance with technology issues and is accessible via email, the phone or by visiting in person. Training sessions and online materials help the entire community keep up with the constant advancements in technology. Students have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and skills through on campus jobs at the Help Desk and with other Information Technology units.
